Shopping list
This shopping list indicates the specific items you need for each recipe, plus the basic pantry items. Quantities will feed four as a side dish, or two as a meal. Double up quantities to feed a crowd.
PANTRY ITEMS, IN ALMOST EVERY RECIPE
• Good olive oil (for salads/finishing) • Cooking olive oil
• Garlic (at least 2 heads)
• Onions / Shallots (at least 3)
• Lemons (at least 6)
• Tender herbs such as parsley, mint • Dried herbs such as thyme
• Spices like smoked paprika
• Broth (2L)
• Bay leaves
• Salt
• Pepper
RADISH AND BLOOD ORANGE SALAD
• 4 winter radishes (650g) • 2 blood oranges (300g) • Pantry: mint, olive oil
BRUSSELS SPROUT CAESAR SALAD
• 500g Brussels sprouts
• Capers
• Parmesan cheese (100g) • Caesar salad dressing
• Pantry: lemon, olive oil
GLAZED PARSNIPS
• 650g parsnips
• Soy sauce
• Honey
• Pantry: garlic, olive oil, lemon
CELERIAC MASH
• 1 celeriac / celery root (650g) • 250-500ml vegetable broth
• Pantry: shallot, garlic, olive oil
MARKO’S PERFECT CABBAGE
• 1 cabbage, 1kg, any kind – Savoy, green, red, or Napa cabbage
• Pantry: parsley, lemon, garlic, olive oil
KOHLRABI SOUP
• 500g kohlrabi (1 large / 3 small)
• 1L vegetable broth
• Pantry: onion, thyme, bay, vinegar,
garlic, olive oil
WILTED RADICCHIO WITH ORANGE
• 650g radicchio
• 2 oranges, like navel (300g)
• Pantry: mint/parsley, olive oil
SLOW ONION SOUP
• 1kg onions (any type, a mix is good) • 1L vegetable broth
• Pantry: olive oil, thyme, bay
ROASTED RUTABAGA
• 2 rutabaga (1kg)
• Pantry: olive oil, garlic, thyme, smoked paprika
